Destructible scenery and environments aren't white whales in the gaming industry, but they are still uncommon enough to warrant prime spots on the feature lists of games. Many titles out there have incorporated the feature into their very identity, like Battlefield, but it's definitely one we're happy to see coming to more games - and based on a job posting, it seems like Grand Theft Auto is next in line.
Well, Grand Theft Auto or whatever other major IP Rockstar Games might be working on right now. So yeah, probably GTA 6. The job opening is for a Visual Effects Artist to join the company's New England office as a full-time employee.
Now, Rockstar Games might seem like a dream job for many in the industry due to its prominence, size and popularity. While it definitely would be a huge step in someone's career, the company has had its issues with problematic amounts of crunch, and was the subject of an exposé about workplace conditions during the development of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Reportedly Rockstar has done much to improve since then, but applicants should know what they're signing up for. Probably this isn't a great choice if you have a family, for example.
