Ash has finally done it - become the very best, like no one ever was. And, just like many others before him, Ash is stepping down while he's still at the top of his game. Or, at least, figuratively, as the original series will finally end. However, the Ash-led Pokemon series isn't going to be ending just like that as it will give Ash a proper send-off with a smorgasbord of cameos and appearances from his laundry list of friends, including the OG ones, Brock and Misty.

Ash finally achieved his lifelong quest last year. The Pallet Town-born Pokemon trainer beat all the other Pokemon League Champions at the Pokemon World Coronation Series Masters Eight Tournament.

Unfortunately, the win comes with a bittersweet price as Ash and Pikachu were announced to be leaving Pokemon soon after, marking the end of his 25-year run as the perpetually 10-year-old boy.

If it's any consolation, Ash's journey is ending with a run of Pokemon Ultimate Journeys: The Series episodes instead of just a single movie or special episode.
