Breeds, Classes & Genetics of Biomutant: How to Choose the Best Biomutant Class for Your Playstyle

If you're willing to look past the small head and pointy teeth, Dumdon has the highest melee damage out of all six breeds, making it the perfect breed for a tank. The bump in melee damage is also accompanied by slightly better health but compromises energy regen and critical hit. While the rest of the base stats are pretty much the same, Dumdon stands out as the perfect tank class with high melee damage and damage absorption. Rex Biomutant Rex Breed

Rex is the breed you choose if you want to play it safe. The Rex is a minimal health boost along with fairly all-rounder stats across the board. If you're not sure about your playstyle, then the Rex is the perfect breed to start with. Hyla Biomutant Character Hyla

The Hyla is a mean-looking breed best suited for a brute playstyle. The high vitality stats allows you to absorb more damage while the low intellect means you can't use any magical (Ki) powers. It's perfect for those who're not afraid to go head-on into the battle to deal with some ranged and melee damage. Fip Biomutant Character Fip

Set the small eyes and weird looking teeth aside, the Fip is the best breed if you're looking to build a mage with high Intellect. Fip boasts the highest base stats for Power, Ki Energy and Energy Regen across all classes, making it perfect if you want to rely on psionic attacks. Murgel Biomutant Character Murgel

If you want to rely heavily on your luck and barter abilities, then Murgel is the perfect breed to start out with. While the rest of the stats are fairly decent, it's of utmost importance to find the perfect weapons and loot to make the most out of the Murgel. The Genetics Once you're done with the base breed, the next thing you'll configure after choosing your base breed is your genetics, which allows you to further customize your stats, resistance and appearance. Also, every different mix and match of genetics has a different genetic code. So the chances of two players sharing the same genetic code are extremely slim. The genetic code itself doesn't really have an impact on your gameplay, but it's just a cool little touch. Genetic Stats Biomutant Character Genetics - Stats

The first thing you can configure under genetics is your stats. Unlike a normal character creator where you can allot points to different stats, Biomutant gives you a slider that lets you add points to one of your stats at the cost of sacrificing the other stats. You can either let the slider be in the dead centre, which means you'll continue with the base stats of your breed, or slide it across to configure your character. At the end of the day, it all comes down to your play style. The best part about it is the fact that the appearance of your character will change based on the stats. Genetic Resistance Biomutant Character Genetics - Resistance

Biomutant is a post-post-apocalyptic world. As such, there are areas of the map with radioactivity, biohazard, heat and cold. You can either have a standard resistance to all the elements or, if you know you're going to wonder into one particular element a lot, you can increase your resistance against that at the cost of sacrificing your resistance to others. Here, our advice would be to leave it centred, at least in your first playthrough, since you won't really know which elements you'll wander into. The Classes Once you're done with the breed and genetics of your Biomutant, it's time for the class. Different classes may provide a vastly different experience as each class has its own unique playstyle, so choose your class wisely. There are 5 base classes to choose from, and a pre-order bonus sixth class called "Mercenary." Dead-Eye Biomutant Classes - Dead-Eye

Dead-Eye class boosts your Biomutant's critical chance and adds in the perfect reload ability, which allows all ranged weapons to be reloaded instantly with a 20% damage boost for your next magazine. The Dead-Eye serves best as a vanilla class of the game, best paired with the Primal, Hyla or Murgel breeds. Commando Biomutant Classes - Commando

If you're thinking of building a ranged character, then Commando and its perk to inflict 10% more damage are perfect for you. The only drawback is of Commando is the low critical chance. Once again, this class is best paired with Primal, Hyla and Murgel breeds. PSI Freak Biomutant Classes- PSI Freak

The PSI-Freak is undoubtedly the best mage class of the game. The focus of the PSI-Freak is the psionic energy. Psi-Freak has the ability to conduct a Spark Ball, which allows the player to summon a ball of lightning that can be thrown in any direction. While we're sure that Spark Ball will draw a lot of you Ki-Energy, the Megamind ability which increases your Ki Energy Regen by 20% makes up for it. Unsurprisingly, PSI Freak class and the FIP breed were a match made in heaven. Saboteur Biomutant Classes- Saboteur

The Saboteur class allows you to wield two one-handed melee weapons thanks to the Twin Silver Grip ability, along with Hypergenetic ability where dodging uses 20% less of your Dodge Energy (stamina). Saboteur is definitely is melee class but it's not dependent on brute forces, but rather focuses on tactfully eliminating the enemy by dealing maximum damage while avoiding attacks. The Saboteur class works best with the Primal, Dumdon or Hyla breed.s Sentinel Biomutant Classes - Sentinel

Sentinel is once again more of a vanilla choice with an increase in armour and boasting the highest Critical Chance stats of any classes available. While some may call it too generic, Sentinel is the perfect class to start with if you don't want to be committed to a certain playstyle throughout the game. Mercenary The last up is the Mercenary class, a pre-order exclusive bonus. Mercenary features the Biomutant in a traditional Japanese samurai outfit and allows you to dual wield Wazikashi blades or a classic katana.
