2024 will see the return of Disney's most iconic character in the world of gaming in the form of Epic Mickey: Rebrushed. Still, as fans look forward to the remake of this classic, the visionary behind the original title, Warren Spector, has voiced his interest in the potential development of Epic Mickey 3.

Spector, who has guided gamers through the jazzy yet twisted Wasteland in Epic Mickey and its sequel, recently expressed a mix of enthusiasm and resignation regarding the series' potential continuation.

With Epic Mickey: Rebrushed set for release on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC later this year, Spector shared his thoughts on LinkedIn of all places (thanks Nintendo Everything). This ended up kindling a flame of hope for many fans of the platform series, while also dashing them in one fell swoop.

"I can't begin to describe how excited I am about the remake," Spector stated, before quickly dousing any rumors of clandestinely working on a new, third entry, confessing, "I'd love to do Epic Mickey 3, but I have a day job that would make that impossible."
