Warren Spector Has Expressed Interest in Developing Epic Mickey 3

Spector's current role as Chief Creative Officer at OtherSide Entertainment, a studio known for its ambitious projects and recent challenges, anchors him away from diving back into the paintbrush adventures of Mickey Mouse. Despite these hurdles, his creative spirit has not been dampened, as he's hinted at a "high-level idea" for a third installment that remains tantalizingly out of reach.

was originally developed by Junction Point Studios in 2010 and published by the now-defunct Disney Interactive Studios. While it had its flaws,

did a great job of bringing relevance back to Mickey Mouse's character and, even more importantly, reviving Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, a Disney character that had long been forgotten.

The closure of Junction Point Studios in 2013 left the series in limbo, with dreams of a third game drifting into the realm of 'what could have been.' Now that Purple Lamp Studios has been tasked with reviving the dormant franchise, fans will be eager to see if the Vienna-based studio can reignite the charm of the original Epic Mickey.

Ultimately, the remake's success could very well determine the feasibility of a new installment, and now that we know Spector is all for it, the only thing left is to wait and see.
