All eyes might be on Overwatch 2 right now, but Blizzard is already eyeing the future.
According to a past employee's LinkedIn page, Blizzard is working on an "unannounced FPS PVP project." Eagle-eyed observers posted a screenshot of the concerned LinkedIn profile online and, as expected, it blew up.
The most interesting part here is the previous experience of the individual in question. As per his profile, Kristopher Howl worked at Blizzard from 2012 and 2020, during which time he was part of the development teams for the canceled Titan game, StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void, Overwatch 2, and the unannounced project. Howl reveals that he worked on the mysterious game for 3 years, taking charge of the "Level, UX, Combat and Systems Design, guiding new level building technology, aligning teams on the vision of the project, hiring, and designing gameplay systems."
Earlier this year, Blizzard confirmed that the studio was working on its first new IP in years. Not only that, but Jeff Grubb claims that Blizzard is still sitting on another unannounced project. If we think about the timeline of events, Grubb might have been talking about Howl's former project. Then again, Howl could have also contributed to Blizzard's new survival game albeit this is highly unlikely.
