No, Diablo 4 isn't coming out later this year, but the upcoming ARPG finally has a release date.
Activision Blizzard popped by at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase to give an update on Diablo 4 and, boy was it chilling. The latest Diablo 4 trailer reveals the fifth and final class coming to the game, the Necromancer. A series staple, the Necromancer bends the forces of life and death across to their will, summoning the undead to fight their battles, which, in this case, is Lilith and her demon horde.
The Necromancer was notably missing from Diablo 3 at launch, so it's nice to know that a member of the Priests of Rathma will be available from the start for Diablo 4.
While it was nice seeing all Diablo 4 classes confirmed, the main highlight of the developer gameplay showcase at the Xbox and Bethesda event was more gameplay footage.
Blizzard took its sweet time talking in-depth about how the game's open world setting will work. Unlike its predecessors, including Diablo: Immortal, Diablo 4 will not have a traditional story campaign. Instead, players can explore an open world at their own risk, with nearly 150 dungeons to dive into and conquer.
