After using Superman to kickstart the DC Extended Universe, Warner Bros. has moved on to using a combination of new and established characters. However, it appears that the studio has not completely forgotten about one of its three big pillars. The only difference is that the upcoming Superman reboot will feature different versions of Superman.

News of a Black Superman reboot first broke out last year with former Superman, Henry Cavill, sharing his excitement. Since then, we've heard very little about the new Men of Steel - until now.

According to Jeff Sneider, Ta-Nehisi Coates is preparing to turn in a draft of his screenplay for Superman to Warner Bros.

The news comes at a time when Warner Bros. DC properties are at an all-time high. After flirting with the possibility of re-launching Zack Snyder's original plans for the DCEU last year, Warner Bros.'s non-DCEU movie, The Batman, was both a critical and commercial success, pulling in nearly $750 million at the global box office.
