Call of Duty has built itself a reputation as a franchise that keeps on giving... the same thing, year after year. So it isn't that much more surprising if Activision is once again banking on our fond memories for its next installment after Treyarch's 2024 title.

Recent leaks suggest that Call of Duty 2025 will follow a format similar to 2023's Modern Warfare III. Essentially, 2025's Call of Duty title is set to include remastered maps from Black Ops II (though this is subject to change within the next two years), as revealed by the reliable COD leaker, @el_bobberto.

This means that we might be seeing classics like Hijacked, Standoff, Raid, and Meltdown in all their revamped glory. This rumor has also been backed up by another COD leaker, @TheMW2Ghost, who stated in response: From what I've heard some time back, I can add that I also heard similar that Black Ops 2 maps were in the remaster pipeline. Previous reports had indicated that Sledgehammer Games was set to helm the development of Call of Duty 2025, as a sequel to the divisive 2014 release, Advanced Warfare. However, the latest developments suggest that Treyarch will assume the primary development role for this upcoming installment.
