Microsoft is hosting the Developer_Direct today to showcase some of its upcoming video games. The gaming showcase is not yet over but rumor has it that a similar event is happening in March.
Tom Henderson reports that his sources have revealed that Microsoft will a “Bethesda Hand On” on March 7. Henderson mentions that this event will be for the media and it might not be available to the public. The rumor suggests that the event will only feature Redfall and Elder Scrolls Online despite its name, which is weird since the two games are part of the Developer_Direct event.
Redfall is reportedly being released on May 2, which multiple sources corroborate. Previous reports indicate that Bethesda may officially announce the release date of Redfall during the upcoming Developer_Direct along with Forza Motorsports.
Elder Scrolls Online is expected to have a major announcement at the Developer_Direct and will give players a first look at the big update. Reports suggest that the MMO game will have an update in time for the rumored event in March. However, an even bigger update will probably happen a few months after.
Elder Scrolls Online will host a separate ESO Global Reveal shortly after the Developer_Direct. The event will be a deep dive into what players can expect from the MMORPG this year.
Interestingly, Starfield isn’t included in Developer_Direct or the rumored Bethesda Hands On. Microsoft previously said the game isn’t part of the former because Bethesda plans to do a separate deep dive for the space-faring RPG to give the devs ample time to showcase Starfield.
There have been reports that Starfield may not be released in the first half of the year. The rumors suggest that the highly anticipated title will be pushed back by one or two months into late summer.
Microsoft hasn’t announced the date of the Starfield showcase, which is worrisome. The lack of updates lends credence to the reports that the game has been delayed. Bethesda also has not given gamers an exact release date for Starfield, only announcing that it’s still coming in the first half of 2023.
