Yun Jin is a 4-star Geo character in Genshin Impact that focuses on shielding and supporting her allies. She is also part of the Yun-Han Opera Troupe and is a great performer who works at the Heyu Tea House. Yun Jin uses a polearm and makes an excellent support character for vulnerable characters like Yoimiya, because she can boost her normal attack damage while providing defense.
Yun Jin’s Talents
Yun Jin uses Polearm against her enemies and she can provide Geo damage and resonance to her allies. Below is the description of each of her skills.
Cloud-gazing Strike is the normal, charged, and plunging attack of Yun Jin. She will perform 5 consecutive normal attacks with her polearm. Charging her attack will allow her to lunge forward and deal damage to enemies on her way. Her charged attack will consume some stamina.
Opening Flourish is the elemental skill of Yun Jin. Pressing her elemental skill will allow you to deal Geo damage to your enemies. If you hold the Opening Flourish, Yun Jin will summon a shield whose damage absorption is dependent on the maximum HP of Yun Jin. This shield has 150% effectiveness against both physical and elemental damage from enemies. When the shield breaks or the skill ends, Yun Jin will deal Geo damage on enemies.
Cliffbreaker's Banner is the elemental burst of Yun Jin. Activating this will allow Yun Jin to deal AoE Geo damage on her enemies. She will also give the Flying Cloud Flag Formation to all her nearby allies. If you have the Flying Cloud Flag Formation, you will get bonus damage depending on Yun Jin's DEF if your normal attack hit enemies. You can trigger the effect multiple times if the character's normal attack hit multiple enemies.
True to Oneself
True to Oneself is the passive of Yun Jin that can be unlocked at Ascension Phase 1. If you time the activation of the Opening Flourish elemental skill when Yun Jin is being attacked, you will automatically unleash the Level 2 Charged form of the skill.
You can unlock the Breaking Convention passive of Yun Jin in Ascension Phase 4. Unlocking this passive will further increase the bonus damage given by the Flying Cloud Flag Formation buff. The passive will increase the bonus damage according to 2.5%/5%/7.5%/11.5% depending on Yun Jin's defense and the number of elemental types in the party.
Light Nourishment is the utility passive of Yun Jin. This passive is unlocked automatically. If Yun Jin achieves Perfect Cooking on food that gives adventure-type buffs, she has a 12% chance to make twice the amount of food.

Yun Jin can act as a great support character to her team. She can give bonus damage to her team while offering Geo Elemental damage.
Yoimiya Support Team
One of the best characters for Yun Jin is Yoimiya. Yoimiya relies heavily on her normal attacks, and Yun Jin can increase Yoimiya's normal attack damage. Yoimiya will be your main DPS and Xingqiu will be your enabler that can trigger the Vaporize elemental reaction. Yun Jin will be your support and Bennett will be your main healer for your team. Having two Pyro characters in your team will also increase your overall attack.
Yun Jin may be a powerful support character due to her bonus damage buff, but she is not primarily a shielder. Pairing her with powerful shielder characters like Zhongli can give her Geo Resonance and protect her allies. Tartaglia will be your main DPS for this team because Yun Jin can increase the overall damage of Tartaglia's normal attack as well. You can add another support character like Bennett to act as your healer.
Physical Damage Team
Yun Jin is also great with physical damage characters like Eula or Razor. They will act as your main DPS and Yun Jin will be your elemental support. Add characters like Fischl, Kujou Sara, or the Raiden Shogun for some extra Energy Recharge. You can also choose Noelle as your sub DPS and healer instead because she can provide healing and extra defense for your team.
Yun Jin is a Geo support character that can boost the damage of your other party members due to her elemental burst. Once you unlock her passive, try practicing your timings when it comes to using her elemental skill to get the maximum damage. She compliments characters like Yoimiya and Tartaglia well because they rely heavily on their normal attacks.
