Mac users are finally going to get in on the Baldur's Gate 3 party, as developer Larian Studios announces support in the next big patch.
Baldur's Gate 3 is arguably the best CRPG released in the past few years and the massive success of the launch is a testament to that. But while Windows PC and Playstation 5 players have been enjoying Larian Studios' masterpiece of translating Wizards of the Coast's Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition rules and the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, Mac users have been stuck on Early Access. Previously, it was expected that the Mac launch would coincide on the August release for Windows PCs, but that did not happen.
However, the wait for Baldur's Gate 3 for those who prefer macOS over Windows may finally be over.
Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios posted the announcement on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Although it is mainly a confirmation of the third major patch for the game on all platforms, the developer included that Patch 3 will come with "full support for BG3 on Mac". This is the most important news for macOS users who have felt left out of the Baldur's Gate 3 experience. Many of these fans have gone on social media platforms such as Reddit and the official Baldur's Gate 3 forums on the Larian Studios website and the Steam community to express their disappointment.
