The 53-year-old South Korean actor Daniel Dae Kim is no stranger to the Avatar universe. The Lost actor previously voiced General Fong for one episode in Avatar: The Last Airbender and was the voice of Hiroshi Sato during the character's numerous appearances in Legend of Korra. Now, Kim is back to work on another Avatar series. The only difference is that it's a live-action adaptation of The Last Airbender and his role is that of the series' primary antagonist, Ozai.

Kim's casting as Ozai draws praise from audiences

The Live-action Avatar Film Casts Daniel Dae Kim As Lord Ozai

Ozai served as the overarching villain of the entire The Last Airbender series. The older brother of the fan-favorite General Iroh and the father of Prince Zuko, Ozai ruled the Fire Nation with an iron fist and was responsible for ushering in an age of prosperity for his nation at the expense of putting the rest of the world under his tyrannical rule.

Several fans of the franchise couldn't help but praise the casting directors for bringing Kim on board as Ozai.
