According to a reliable source, Persona fans could hear the shuffle of battle cards once again with a fighting game spinoff that's been rumored to be gaining traction.
The source, Twitter user @MbKKssTBhz5, known for previously accurate leaks regarding the Persona franchise, has claimed that multiple Persona games are currently in the works. Among these titles, the much-anticipated and a still-to-be-revealed Persona 6 leads the charge. Alongside it, we can expect to see the upcoming Persona 5 Tactica, an intriguingly named new game, Persona Asa, and the aforementioned fighting game. However, the leaker hinted that the development focus remains on Persona 6.
Curiously enough, the leaker unveiled is that Atlus has been working on the fighting game since 2015. The game's original concept, conceived eight years ago, has undergone significant evolution, evolving to such a degree that the leaker doubts the final product will bear any resemblance to its original design. It's like that caterpillar turning into a butterfly, or perhaps a Mothman, in true Persona style.
But that's not where the story ends. Alongside these new titles, Atlus is also confirmed to be releasing a remake of Persona 3, titled Persona 3 Reload, early next year. And let's not forget the much-anticipated Metaphor: ReFantazio, a new RPG under Atlus' wing.
