The battle for peace and free will, which has long raged within the Assassin-Templar conflict, is about to transcend reality itself now that Assassin's Creed is joining the world of virtual reality with the upcoming entry titled Nexus.

In the recent Ubisoft Forward streaming event, held as part of the Summer Game Fest, the renowned-but-controversial French video game publisher unveiled its maiden foray into VR with gameplay from the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed Nexus.

Developed by Red Storm Entertainment, this upcoming addition to the acclaimed open-world adventure franchise will be coming to Meta Quest 2,3, and Pro, with a confirmed release window set for the holiday season.

Spanning nearly one and a half minutes, the announcement trailer showcases the game's first-person perspective, which enables players to embody three iconic assassins from the franchise's rich history: Ezio Auditore da Firenze from Assassin's Creed II, Kassandra from Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and Connor from Assassin's Creed III.

Set across Renaissance Italy, Ancient Greece and Colonial America, players make use of real-world motions to engage in combat, employ stealth tactics to blend in with their environment, and execute precision assassinations on enemy combatants.
