Assassin’s Creed Mirage is coming in August

The latest leaked information allegedly comes from a GameStop employee who has seen the marketing material for the game.

Ubisoft has not yet officially given a release date for Assassin's Creed: Mirage.

Ubisoft has been awfully quiet about Assassin’s Creed: Mirage. The studio promised that the game is coming out this year but it hasn’t shared a release date for the upcoming installment even as we near the middle of 2023.

Newly leaked information shared via Reddit reveals that Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is closer to launch than many expect.

According to the leak, the newest Assassin’s Creed title is coming in August.

The leaker claims to be an employee of GameStop and shares that they have seen marketing material for Mirage. The user assured that they work at the video game retailer and challenges moderators to verify with them, saying:

I work at a GameStop (mods can verify with me if they want) and our computer has marketing for upcoming games, including Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which doesn’t have a release date yet.

The GameStop leaker has information on the release dates of upcoming games.

Assassin’s Creed: Mirage was announced during the Ubisoft Forward in September 2022 alongside several other titles for the action-adventure stealth video game series. Ubisoft shared that Basim will be the protagonist of the upcoming title and it will be set in Baghdad.

Assassin’s Creed: Mirage will follow a young Basim as he lives as a thief in Baghdad. Players will get to learn how Basim became a member of the secretive group of Assassins.

The upcoming title will return to the core gameplay of the Assassin’s Creed series. The game will emphasize the stealth action gameplay rather than the RPG-esque leveling system of newer titles.

Insider Gaming‘s Tom Henderson has corroborated the leaked information. Henderson even goes one further, claiming that gamers will be seeing gameplay for the stealth game at the Ubisoft Forward event on June 12.

Ubisoft has been notorious for missing release dates and suffering delays. This new information may not be entirely accurate as the studio may have released a placeholder date for retail stores.

Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson corroborates the leaked information.

There have been rumors that Assassin’s Creed: Mirage has suffered some hiccups in development. According to the rumor, the game has been affected by production changes in a big way and the title may release later than anticipated.

Aside from Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, Ubisoft is also working on other titles for the series. Project Red will be set in feudal Japan and feature both Samurai and Ninjas. Project Hexe will be set in Central Europe while the mobile game Project Jade will take place in China.

Ubisoft is also working on Assassin’s Creed Invictus which will be a multiplayer title and the VR game Assassin’s Creed Nexus.

Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S later this year.
