Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed game series has been in the news a lot lately. Earlier this month, we reported that the studio is rumored to be working on 11 different Assassin's Creed titles - an ambitious undertaking indeed.

Of the 11 rumored games, Ubisoft has officially announced four, and one of them is Assassin's Creed Codename Red.

Ubisoft announced Codename Red last year during its Assassin's Creed Showcase. We know, from the trailer, that the game will be set in Japan during its feudal era. Apart from this tiny detail, there is little else confirmed information available about the game. We have heard rumors that the game will have two playable characters, though - but that is all they are. Rumors.

The company also neglected to give us a release date, or window for that matter, besides a vague tag at the end of the trailer that read, "On the Horizon." Nevertheless, we expected the game to take some time, given how many projects the company is currently working on.

It now appears we were wrong as, according to a new report, Assassin's Creed Codename Red will arrive sooner rather than expected. We have Access The Animus, a popular and reliable Assassin's Creed Twitter fan account, to thank for this report.
