Assassin's Creed Mirage is coming out in October

A Japanese retailer reinforces the earlier leaks about the potential release date of the next Assassin's Creed game.

If leaked and uncredited information isn't enough to make you believe that Assassin's Creed Mirage is coming out during the holiday season, maybe this one will.

It's only a matter of time before Ubisoft confirms the release date of Assassin's Creed Mirage.

Apparently, there's more proof available online that Assassin's Creed Mirage will be released in October.

The latest information comes from Renka_Schedule, which points out that several Japanese retailers are listing Assassin's Creed Mirage with an "October 12, 2023" launch date.

It isn't unusual for retailers to use placeholders for upcoming games. But, this isn't the case for Japanese retailers. Most if not all do not bother updating a game's release dates unless it's final or the change is last-minute.

The "new" release date follows previous speculations about a potential delay. The consistency of Japanese retailers with the release dates means that it's highly likely that Basim will make his lead character debut in Assassin's Creed Mirage in October.

By the time that Assassin's Creed Valhalla was released, it was clear that fans had gotten tired of the shift to the open-world formula.

What's interesting is that the expected launch date, October 12, falls on a Thursday, an unusual choice for video games that often release on a Friday. However, Ubisoft isn't your typical company either.

Previously, Ubisoft released both Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and Assassin's Creed: Odyssey on Tuesdays.

As we wait for an official confirmation, fans should keep an eye out for Ubisoft to stealth-drop the Assassin's Creed Mirage trailer now that the cat is out of the bag. But, the most likely scenario is that it's planned for an announcement at the May 24 PlayStation Showcase or the June 12 Ubisoft Forward event.

Aside from its release, Assassin's Creed Mirage is drawing interest for other reasons. One of them is the protagonist, Basim, who's set to have his origin story unfold in this installment.

Assassin's Creed Mirage could herald a new age for the decades-old franchise.

With the promise of scaling the franchise back to what it was like in the first few entries but with modern graphics and more developers working on the series than ever, many are excited to play what could be one of the best in the franchise.

Of course, the buzz doesn't stop with Mirage. Ubisoft has more plans for Assassin's Creed. A new hub named Infinity and more adventures - Codename Red, Codename Jade, and Codename Hexe - are also on the docket.

With so much in store, Assassin's Creed fans will be eating well over the next few years.
