Armored Core 6 gets official rating in Korea

Several games in the past have announced their respective release dates shortly after being rated in South Korea.

Fires of Rubicon received a 12+ rating in Korea.

It looks like the release of Armored Core 6 is just a few months away. The game has already received a rating in Korea and it signals that the release date announcement is imminent.

As reported by Gematsu, the highly anticipated Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon received a 12+ rating in South Korea. It reveals that the game contains violence which is expected of the title.

The rating is a sign that FromSoftware is primed to announce the release date of the game and it confirms that the game is already in a complete state and will be ready within the year.

There have been a number of upcoming titles that have recently received ratings in Korea. Street Fighter 6, New Tales From the Borderlands, and Ghostwire: Tokyo received ratings in the country and announced their respective release dates around a month later. However, receiving ratings does not guarantee that FromSoftware will announce anything soon, so take this information with a grain of salt.

Fans of Elden Ring are also excited about the release of Armored Core 6. There have been rumors that the upcoming Elden Ring expansion Shadow of the Erdtree will be released sometime after Fires of Rubicon comes out.

Of course, the main highlight is that Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is the first game in the series in more than a decade – the last title, Armored Core: Verdict Day, came out in 2013.

According to FromSoftware, Armored Core 6 will still retain the formula that made the series successful. The core gameplay elements such as Mecha customization and fast-paced tactical combat will still be present in the upcoming title.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be released after Armored Core 6.

Producer Yasutaka Ogura said players will still have to learn attack patterns and movements when fighting bosses like any other FromSoftware title. Games have to formulate strategies to initiate counterattacks. The producer teased the Mecha combat will be dynamic and feature both long and short-ranged engagements.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S later this year.
