Armored Core 6 could be released in August

If the rumored release date holds true, FromSoftware could release the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion in time for the Holiday season.

Armored Core VI will be the first game in the franchise in close to a decade.

FromSoftware has been oddly silent about Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon for a while. But, if we believe a recent report, the studio could start making noise soon.

The famed Japanese studio is currently working on two projects at the moment: the next Armored Core game and Shadow of the Erdtree, a premium expansion for Elden Ring. While both are set to come out later this year, it’s believed the former is coming ahead of the latter. However, the lack of news, outside of an official rating in South Korea, is making fans feel a bit uneasy about a potential delay.

Thankfully, Insider Gaming offered exciting news.

The site claims that its sources have confirmed that Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon will hit the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Windows PCs on August 25.

While unconfirmed, the timeline fits FromSoftware’s plans to release both Armored Core 6 and Shadow of the Erdtree later this year, giving the latter a chance to be its big holiday release.

We hope FromSoftware will add elements from the Soulsborne games to Armored Core 6.

Unfortunately, without E3 2023, we won’t know when FromSoftware will reveal the release date for Armored Core 6. Most are hoping that it will come at the Summer Game Fest on June 8, which has effectively replaced E3 ever since the COVID-19 pandemic started. But, something tells us that PlayStation will try to beat others to the jump and feature Armored Core 6 at its unconfirmed PlayStation Showcase in May.

FromSoftware and Sony have close strategic as well as financial ties. Not to mention, the earlier Armored Core titles were exclusive to the PlayStation platform.

At this point, all signs point to a release date announcement for Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon to come within the next two months. The only question now is, when exactly are we going to get the official news?
