Amazon Prime Video's The Lord of the Rings prequel series is one of the most highly anticipated shows right now. After several months of little to no announcements, Prime Video has released its latest preview. On top of a proper premiere date, Prime Video released a short teaser trailer for the upcoming show while also confirming its official title, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

Peter Jackson's original Lord of the Rings movies was a seminal piece of product that many audiences continue to remember fondly two decades after 2001's The Fellowship of the Ring was released. However, Prime Video intends to separate its adaptation in many ways. Aside from being a prequel, The Rings of Power will not bring back any of the actors involved in Jackson's movies.

Case in point, Morfydd Clark will play Galadriel in the Prime Video series instead of Cate Blanchett, as you can see in the trailer below.

The Rings of Power's new Galadriel takes center stage in the first teaser trailer for the show. It's everyone's first small glimpse at the world that Amazon has spent several years building from the ground up. As a prequel, The Rings of Power will take place during Middle-earth's Second Age, which lasted some 3,441 years. However, even if both are based on the same material, The Rings of Power is not directly connected to Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy.
