Amazon Games (formerly Amazon Game Studios) has been quietly building a roster of big MMORPGs. The company developed New World and published Lost Ark by Smilegate. Now, Amazon wants to add to its growing video game library with Blue Protocol. The upcoming MMORPG was announced at The Game Awards and is currently being developed by Bandai Namco. It was originally meant for the Japanese PC market but Amazon Games picked it up for a global release.

The anime-inspired cel-shaded art style quickly drew a comparison to one of the most popular MMOs, Genshin Impact. While not entirely a Genshin Impact clone, Blue Protocol does have a lot of similarities. It will be fascinating to see a newcomer take on a fan-favorite title.
