Amazon confirms Invincible Season 2 update at San Diego Comic-Con

Despite the teaser's enigmatic "More or less" when asked about a return in late 2023, we're inching closer to that timeline. As we drift into the second half of the year, the fog is beginning to lift. A resurgence, it seems, is truly on the horizon.

According to Amazon, more Invincible news is coming at San Diego Comic-Con 2023 on July 20-23.

The series, an adaptation of Robert Kirkman's graphic novels, has captured the essence of the source material. In fact, some say that it exceeds it. The confrontation between Mark (Steven Yeun) and Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons), for example, gave the show an electrifying element of violence that wasn't in the comics. If nothing else, it proved that showrunners with creative liberties can do the source material justice.

Now, with the departure of Omni-Man, Invincible stands at the precipice of an uncertain future. Mark is left to grapple with his burgeoning responsibility as Earth's greatest protector, with the looming possibility of Omni-Man's return a constant shadow.

But as one villain departs, another steps into the spotlight. Angstrom Levy is slated to be the main antagonist of season 2, promising to carry forward the series' legacy of ruthless villains. Known for wreaking havoc on Mark's personal and even his professional life in the comics, Levy is expected to be equally relentless on screen.

Indeed, with the show's tendency to veer away from the source material, audiences should brace for Levy. However, as they say, patience is the key. It may be a while before Levy makes his grand entrance on Amazon Prime. But, we could get updates sooner than we think.

Amazon has confirmed that Invincible will be featured at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, scheduled for July 20-23. There's this sense of excitement surrounding the other half of Amazon's wildly successful comic book adaptations, the other being The Boys.

If we're lucky, we'll get good news about both The Boys and Invincible on July 20-23. Yet, we're happy with just one or the other.

Production on the third season of Invincible has already commenced, according to Khary Payton, which is sure to be a silver lining for fans enduring the grueling two-year gap between the first two seasons. Adding to the anticipation, a live-action film adaptation, helmed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, is also in development. as for the release window for either project, it's best that we leave that worry to our tomorrow's self.
