Brendan Fraser has had a rough couple of years, but his stock is on the rise again. The actor, popular for roles in popcorn flicks like George of the Jungle and The Mummy, won the Oscar Award for Best Actor in a feature film less than two weeks ago. Now, a former co-star has expressed interest in sharing the big screen with him again.
During a Clueless reunion panel at recently held '90s Con, Alicia Silverstone, in response to a fan's question, admitted she would be happy to star opposite Fraser in a Blast from the Past sequel. In the film, Silverstone starred as Eve Rustikov, the love interest of Adam Webber, Fraser's character.
In her words, "With Brendan? I would do anything with Brendan. It was so much fun. I just saw Brendan after he won his Oscar and he's so cute. He talked in his speech about how we all go through this really hard time and you have to grow and it's part of life that you struggle and then look what happened to him! So yes, I'm happy to do that."
Fraser won his Oscar for his performance in the Darren Aronofsky psychological drama film The Whale and the speech that Silverstone referred to in her statement was his acceptance speech, which Oscar attendees and viewers found emotional. Fraser began his speech by appreciating his studio A-24, his director Aronofsky, and the writer Samuel D. Hunter.
