The Call of Duty player base was content hearing about the dropping of annual Call of Duty releases in favor of a two-year development cycle. This was shocking news, as it was the first time in almost 20 years a new Call of Duty game wouldn't release (in 2023). Several sources recently confirmed that the next Treyarch game will release in 2024, leaving everyone with Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 (2022).
Activision-Blizzard made public its Q2 2022 earnings report on August 1, 2022, which raised some eyebrows regarding its future content. The report suggests that we might be getting a new title in 2023, after all. Under the Activision section, the report reads, "...continuing development of new premium content planned for 2023 and beyond."
Activision only refers to its paid full games as premium content, implying they might be releasing a premium CoD title in 2023. There are a lot of leaks and speculation about a standalone Zombies game, which many players have been requesting. But, the Zombies experience was speculated to be a free-to-play game.

Some even thought it to be a DLC for the upcoming highly anticipated Modern Warfare 2. But the question about it being a DLC has since been disregarded, given the word used to describe the content is 'premium.' CharlieIntel also stated that the company refers to its yearly CoD release as premium as it is a paid game.
While nothing is confirmed, it is also possible that the statement is referring to the new Warzone experience coming to CoD Mobile. We've already covered the leaks about Warzone Mobile and Project Aurora. But this is highly unlikely, given that Warzone Mobile will be a free-to-play game, not "premium."
