It's one thing for a leak to make its way online. It's another for a company to scrub it from the internet. This is usually proof of the legitimacy of certain leaked content. In this case, Activision Blizzard's decision to copyright strike datamined information found inside the files of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 might have proved that a Zombies mode is coming to the shooter soon.
According to the now-deleted images, the Modern Warfare 2 menu showed selections such as "Round Based Zombies and "Outbreak". Now, this doesn't guarantee anything outside of the fact that it's in the game files. Cut content is nothing new for any game and Call of Duty isn't immune to it. But, after Treyarch worked with Sledgehammer Games last year to bring the Zombies mode to Call of Duty: Vanguard, anything feels possible.
Of course, this also means that there's another way to explain the presence of a potential Zombies mode in Modern Warfare 2.
Call of Duty is going to use a unified engine starting with Modern Warfare 2. Treyarch could have left the files and codes in Modern Warfare 2 by mistake. Keep in mind that the multiple Call of Duty studios work closely.
