A remastered edition of The Darkness could be on the horizon, including a PC port

Gamers are celebrating as Stephen Kick, the CEO of Nightdive Studios, confirmed some exciting news. Fans of the studio's beloved title, The Darkness, can now rejoice, as it has been officially revealed that a remaster of the iconic game may be in development.

The CEO took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to reveal this, setting off a chorus of cheers among eager players. With a tweet that reads "ITS ON THE LIST," the CEO not only acknowledged the passionate requests of the community but also provided the confirmation they had hoped to see.

This revelation comes as a response to a fan's tweet, where they expressed their desire for a remaster of The Darkness and/or a port. The CEO's affirmation leaves little doubt that the company is actively working on bringing back the beloved title with modern enhancements.

The Darkness holds a special place in the hearts of gamers for its immersive gameplay and captivating storyline. The confirmation of a remaster has ignited a renewed interest among players, who can now anticipate reliving the captivating narrative and engaging gameplay in a new light.

For those unfamiliar, The Darkness is a 2007 console-exclusive first-person shooter title by Starbreeze studios that was published by 2K for both PS3 and Xbox 360. Nightdive Studios, under Stephen Kick's leadership, is renowned for spearheading remarkable projects such as System Shock, Forsaken, ShadowMan, PowerSlave, and QUAKE.
