FromSoftware’s Game of the Year, Elden Ring, took the gaming world by storm in 2022 and is still going strong almost a year later. The game has plenty of content to keep the players busy for hours, but recent improvements and free updates have made it even better.
Elden Ring has not received any paid DLCs so far, but that could change in the future if the rumors surrounding this new DLC hold any weight. We’ve already received a much-awaited PvP mode, a new Colosseum arena, some new quests, and some weapon-balancing patches.
However, the latest discussions surrounding Elden Ring suggest that FromSoftware could be working on a major DLC update that could add significant content to Elden Ring. And it won’t be far-fetched for a game of this magnitude.
A recent Reddit post by a user called ApprehensiveTop8927 sparked new hype around the game. The OP shared a screenshot of a Discord conversion between a popular Elden Ring Twitch streamer Lance McDonald and a user Abraham Link.
In the conversation, Lance alleges that a “huge DLC” is coming soon to Elden Ring. He shares that it may add a “really big” area to the game. This means that we could get a map expansion soon. He further adds that while he “know a lot about what it’s adding,” he doesn’t know about any new gameplay mechanics.
The information from Lance is credible because not long ago, some data miners managed to get into the files of Elden Ring and discovered new bosses, areas, and dungeons rumored to be the new DLC.
In any case, whether or not FromSoftware is working on the DLC is still not officially confirmed. FromSoftware is also working on its new game, Armored Core 6, which is slated to release later this year and is scheduled to have a presentation during the Taiwan Game Show.
Armored Core 6 is one of FromSoftware’s main games and will be the primary focus this year. This means that it will probably work on the long-rumored Elden Ring DLC sometime after the release of Armored Core 6, as the studio wouldn’t want to take the focus away from their new game.
