The first Elden Ring DLC has been confirmed and it's coming out tomorrow

Something tells us this surprise DLC for Elden Ring is to throw us off at an announcement of a bigger expansion at The Game Awards later this week.

First Elden Ring Dlc Confirmed Coming Tomorrow Scaled
The multiplayer DLC for Elden Ring will likely give the game another push in player count ahead of The Game Awards.

Just when you thought you've had all the Elden Ring you can take, FromSoftware has gone and given another reason to pick your controller up, only to throw it at the wall in frustration once again.

FromSoftware is releasing a free Elden Ring update tomorrow, December 7, that will open the doors to the mysterious colosseums. The new content drop will give players access to new areas as well as "new PvP modes".

According to the official trailer, the Colosseum Update will give players access to arenas in Limgrave, Leyndell, and Caelid for "duels, free-for-alls and teamfights." Later in the trailer, we can see the players taking part in such activities.

Elden Ring players have had their hands full with the game's PvP aspect in recent months. In one of the game's most recent updates, FromSoftware addressed the balance issues and gave PvP a separate damage scaling. This opened Elden Ring to an entirely new set of strategies as it forced players to go back to the drawing board and find out what worked.

It makes plenty of sense for FromSoftware to release a PvP-oriented DLC to capitalize on its popularity. Still, we expect FromSoftware to release more story-related expansions for Elden Ring in the future.

Fingers crossed, FromSoftware and Bandai Namco will announce more DLC for Elden Ring at The Game Awards on December 8.

First Elden Ring Dlc Confirmed Coming Tomorrow
Elden Ring will likely get a GOTY edition next year to compile all of its post-launch content, including an expected story DLC.

Elden Ring is one of the frontrunners to win GOTY later this week. You could argue that the game already has a leg up over God of War: Ragnarok after winning the same award in Japan. In addition to a potential Elden Ring announcement, Bandai Namco will join The Game Awards to reveal the release date of Tekken 8.
