Dune: Part Two gets an incredible new trailer

Timothée Chalamet will helm an uprising leading to an epic battle in the sequel to one of the most beautiful films in recent memory.

Paul Atreides is leading the Fremen uprising in Dune: Part Two.

Dune: Part Two is looking every bit as epic as it should, much to the celebration of fans of the original novels. The latest trailer makes a point of driving this home, teasing a large-scale battle between the Fremen of Arrakis and the armies loyal to Emperor Shaddam IV.

Warner Bros Pictures has released a new trailer for the highly anticipated sequel, which will continue the story of Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides. In the new video, the young Atreides adopts the name “Muad’Dib” which is the Fremen name for the desert mouse endemic to the planet.

The teaser also highlights the role of Zendaya’s Chani as she supports Paul’s quest for revenge. We also get a glimpse of Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, and Javier Bardem in the clip.

The new video also introduces Christopher Walken’s character Emperor Shaddam IV – the mastermind behind the murder of Duke Leto Atreides.

The second film picks up where the original left off. The first movie ended with Paul and Chani meeting the Fremen in the desert and being accepted into their ranks. The sequel sees Paul leading the Fremen to an epic showdown against House Harkonnen.

The movie’s synopsis reads, “Dune: Part Two will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”

Dune: Part Two introduces Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, the chosen heir to House Harkonnen. Based on the trailer, Paul and Feyd-Rautha look destined to fight each other later on in the movie.

The sequel also sees the addition of Florence Pugh as she plays Princess Irulan Corrino. The heir to the galactic empire seems to have a grudging respect for the young Atreides.

The new trailer teases an epic battle for control of Arrakis.

Denis Villeneuve returns to direct the sequel and co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Spaihts. Legendary Pictures and Scott Free Productions are producing the upcoming sequel with the film being distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.

Dune: Part Two covers the second half of the first novel written by Frank Herbert. Only two movies have been planned so far but there is room for more films. There have been talks of a film adaptation for Dune Messiah but it will largely depend on the box office performance of Dune sequel.

Dune: Part Two is coming to theaters on November 3.
