Fans of Sony’s budding antihero universe will be in for quite the treat next year as the third installment in the Tom Hardy-led series, Venom, finally has a release window.
The granddaddy of all symbiotes’ next chaotic outing is scheduled for October next year.
The October release window, which was recently confirmed in a report by Variety, is in line with past releases in the only successful line of films in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.

The first film, Venom, burst onto the scene on October 5, 2018, and its follow-up, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, arrived on October 1, 2021. This October trend for the franchise, likely due to the spooky and grotesque character of Venom, serves as an appealing alternative to the otherwise festive offerings during the Halloween season.
Venom 3 is set to reintroduce Tom Hardy in his acclaimed role as the journalist Eddie Brock. Hardy’s complex portrayal of a man entwined with a violent alien symbiote has proved a box-office draw, with the franchise earning well over $1 billion at the global box office. Despite a tepid response from critics, the commercial success of the series is undeniable.
A significant addition to the cast is Juno Temple, who’s widely known for her role as Keeley Jones in the Apple TV+ series, Ted Lasso. Speaking at a recent FYC event for Ted Lasso” Temple expressed her excitement about joining the Venom series and disclosed that filming was likely to begin very soon. However, not much is known about the plot of the third entry. The script was completed before the Writers Guild of America strike, meaning that production plans remain unhindered.
Kelly Marcel, the writer behind the first two films, steps up as the director, marking her directorial debut. Marcel’s deep and innate understanding of the series and her successful collaboration with Hardy in shaping the narrative promise an exciting development for the third movie. The previous directors were Ruben Fleischer for the first film and Andy Serkis for the sequel.
Moreover, Venom 3 has further expanded its talented cast to include Chiwetel Ejiofor, known for his role as Mordo in the Doctor Strange films. Ejiofor’s casting hints at potential cross-overs and complex storylines for the upcoming movie.

The Venom films exist in a universe separate from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man MCU adventures. However, their existence was briefly intertwined in Spider-Man: No Way Home, an exciting prospect that could have far-reaching implications for Venom 3.
As fans wait for Venom 3, Sony’s Spider-Man Universe will expand with Kraven the Hunter, El Muerto, and Madame Web, all scheduled to hit theaters on October 6, January 12, 2024, and February 16, 2024, respectively.
