The developers pushed back the upcoming beta for Halo Infinite's co-op campaign at the last minute.

Delays have become synonymous with Halo Infinite. 343 Industries delayed the game by over a year following public backlash from its initial reveal. Then, once Halo Infinite hit store shelves, it still wasn’t complete. For one, the game’s co-op campaign was nowhere to be found. 343 promised that it would arrive alongside season two, but this never materialized. Now, 343 has broken yet another promise by delaying the beta test for the Halo Infinite co-op campaign to later this week.

343 Industries community director, Brian Jarrard, reasoned on Twitter that the studio is still working on addressing recently discovered issues.

Here’s a small part of what Jarrard wrote on Twitter:

Apologies to folks who expected the flight today – we’re eager to get this into your hands but we also want to ensure it’s a positive and worthwhile flight experience. Still targeting this week but it’s day by day as work continues. Ty for your patience and understanding.

“Flight” is a term that 343 uses to refer to its beta testing and it uses the term “rings” for the game’s developmental milestones. We commend 343’s commitment to using these terms. It’s the only thing that it has stayed consistent with throughout the entire time.

We seriously doubt that 343 can roll out the beta test for the Halo Infinite co-op campaign this week.

In the meantime, Halo Infinite isn’t in the best place. After two seasons, Halo Infinite’s player count is starting to taper off. It’s gotten to the point that Battlefield 2042 has more players than Halo Infinite. We don’t know if there is a term for when a game once considered dead has more players than yours, but we doubt that it’s good news.

At the end of the day, the delay casts serious doubt that the co-op campaign gameplay for Halo Infinite will arrive in August.
