Gaming is a copycat industry. Whatever game is popular right now almost always ends up having multitudes of copies. However, for some reason, Rocket League doesn't have too many clones. At least, not ones that have the financial backing and commitment to rival the Psyonix title. But, if we believe recent reports, this is all about to change soon.

According to Exputer, 2K Games will enter the vehicular multiplayer game arena to take on Rocket League with Gravity Goal.

The report claims that the NBA 2K22 studio is working on a game that takes several pages out of Rocket League's playbook like having 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 matchmaking as well as a ball that players will knock around and kick into a goal. However, Exputer claims that 2K's upcoming Rocket League rival will not use vehicles but "Tron-like" motorcycles. In addition to the transportation change, Gravity Goal will reportedly let players throw discs at the opposition to damage their bikes and slow them down or make them stop.

TLDR; 2K is making a more futuristic-looking version of Rocket League but with motorcycles instead of cars.
