2B From NieR: Automata Is More NSFW Than Ever In Granblue Fantasy Versus

As expected, Yoko Taro's widely popular creation is making waves once again for her risque skirtless outfit.

As always, 2B quickly proves that she's more than just a pretty face.

For the nth time since NieR: Automata was released, one-half of its pair of dangerously attractive combat androids is crossing over into another game, risqué outfit and all. This time, 2B is making her way to Granblue Fantasy Versus.

The collaboration introduces 2B as the first guest character in the fighting game sequel, blending the intricate combat style and design of the beloved android with the fantasy world of Granblue.

2B’s addition to the game was made official at the Granblue Fantasy Fes presentation in December, making her the second DLC character to join the roster. Available for $7.99 or the regional equivalent, the character set not only includes 2B but also a range of in-game items such as an avatar costume and a Yorha costume for Granblue Fantasy: Relink as well as the inclusion of the inverted 2P color scheme. Season pass owners receive automatic access to 2B, while others have the option to purchase her separately.

Believe it or not, 2B isn't usually available as a playable character in crossovers.

The character brings a complex and challenging moveset to the game, requiring players to adapt to her unique combat style. Unlike other characters, 2B does not have access to the ‘dash light’ attack and instead utilizes a special meter for her abilities. This mechanic introduces a strategic layer to playing as 2B, with stronger moves depleting more of the meter.

2B’s gameplay was detailed in a comprehensive guide released on the official Cygames YouTube channel. The video, narrated by 2B’s trusty Pod companion, shows off her wide range of special moves and the tactical depth required to master her. Yui Ishikawa and Kira Buckland reprise their roles as the voice of 2B in the Japanese and English versions, respectively, adding an authentic touch to the character’s integration into the game.

Alongside 2B, the 1.21 update for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising introduced many new features and improvements to enhance the gaming experience. These include an online connection quality indicator, reduced input delay on PS5, and weekly challenges for the players to earn more in-game currency. The update also added the ability to display collected weapon cutouts for avatars in online lobbies.

Beneath her revealing and bold outfit, 2B’s arrival brings a fresh dynamic to the roster, with a gameplay trailer confirming an engaging moveset and a new version of the iconic theme “Weight of the World” as her personal BGM in the game.

While 2B and other characters from the NieR</em >series have appeared in other franchises in recent years, this marks just the second time that 2B is a playable character like herself. The last time was in 2018 when she was a guest character in SoulCalibur VI.

Those who’d like to see more of 2B can watch her in the anime adaptation Nier: Automata Ver1.1a. Unfortunately, it’s unclear if Yoko Taro is working on a new NieR game.
