Director Shawn Levy has confirmed that he is in negotiations with Lucasfilm to direct a new Star Wars movie. He shared this news via his Twitter page where he posted screenshots of a report alongside the caption, "Childhood me is losing his shit right now. Grown-up me is too."
According to sources, the filmmaker will make the movie a priority after he wraps up production on Marvel's Deadpool 3, where Ryan Reynolds reprises his role as the titular character and Hugh Jackman is set to make an appearance of some sort as fan favorite Wolverine. That is if he comes to an agreement with Lucasfilm, which fans will hope he does.
The Adam Project director Levy is currently handling the post-production on All the Light We Cannot See, a Netflix drama limited series that is based on Anthony Doerr's book of the same name. He directed and developed this series alongside Steven Knight, one of the Peaky Blinders' producers. Levy also has a few episodes of Stranger Things' fifth and final season on his slate through his production company 21 Laps.
