Zack Snyder’s cryptic DCEU related social media posts drive fan theories

But the teasing does not end there. Zack Snyder followed this up with a post on his Vero account which has a black and white picture of Henry Cavill as Superman. This image includes the following text overlay:

MOS BVS ZSJL Life is a cycle, from birth to death to rebirth. And so the hero's journey is a cycle as well. A continuous journey of growth and transformation.

And just like the Twitter video, Snyder highlighted the upcoming dates of April 28 to 30.

Fans of the director and the DC Extended Universe reacted and threw out their ideas of what Snyder might be teasing.

Some have speculated that Snyder may have come to an agreement with DC Studios Co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran to finish the DCEU as part of the Elseworlds branding. On the other hand, some skeptics believe it may be an announcement related to the upcoming Rebel Moon projects on Netflix and that Snyder is using his past DCEU work as a marketing stunt.

However, the most likely theory is that Zack Snyder is going to host a watch party and mini-convention during the three days mentioned in the posts. The screenings will be for his DCEU films: Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Snyder has done a similar watch party a few years prior. Affectionately dubbed the Snyder Con, it was held on March 22 to 24, 2019. Held in Snyder's alma mater The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, the event was held to support charity and for Snyder to give a thank you to his loyal fandom. The Zack Snyder-directed films that were shown during those three days were Dawn of the Dead (2004), Watchmen (2009), and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).

Fans in attendance at Snyder Con were able to interact with Zack Snyder through Q&A panels, take photos, and be treated to new scenes in his films. Note that the versions of the films were director's cuts, with footage that did not make it past the cutting room floor. Hence, it is safe to assume the three DCEU films will be presented in a similar fashion, having new material fans have not seen before. It is also possible that the stars from the DCEU movies may attend and join in the festivities.

Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon will debut on the Netflix streaming platform (with a limited theatrical run) on December 22, 2023.
