With a well-made trailer, worthy of a new installment in the Xenoblade series, Rex searches for Pyra who has disappeared from Alrest without a trace. When he finds her, she justifies her disappearance because she has received an invitation to join Smash Bros! (If I were a Xenoblade fan expecting more than a DLC announcement, I would be collecting my shattered heart pieces on the mat).
Pyra joins the fray – to Rex’s shock – alongside Mithra. They function as a single character and can swap between them freely, changing their skillset from fire-powered attacks to fast as light reflexes. Rex aids the girls in their Final Smash attack, destroying enemies regardless of their level with a divine arrow shower or a flaming sword gushing a blazing eruption.
In addition to the character, the pack contains an entirely new stage, the titan Azurda. In the background of the arena, you can see other ‘Xenoblade 2’ characters such as Tora, Nia, Morag, and Zeke. This pack is the fourth DLC character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s second Fighters Pass. The latest addition was Final Fantasy VII’s villain Sephiroth.
The Fighters Pass costs $29.99 for six characters (thus far, four has been announced, so expect two more in the coming months), but you can pay $5.99 for each character individually. The girls will release in March, so stay tuned for more information soon.
