Microsoft expands Xbox Game Pass for December with more games

Just when you thought that the Xbox Game Pass offerings for December couldn't get any better, Microsoft added even more games.

Considering how many kids got gifted new consoles this holiday season, Microsoft definitely made the right choice with the new Xbox Game Pass additions.

The Xbox Game Pass for December was already stacked, but it appears that Microsoft isn’t content. In addition to what was already announced, Microsoft just expanded on its monthly video game subscription service. Although the new additions aren’t exactly what you’d call AAA titles, they’re still worthy inclusions that are coming just in time for the Holiday season.

Mortal Kombat 11 definitely isn't child-friendly, but it's an awesome inclusion for December's Xbox Game Pass lineup.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers will want to circle December 16 on their calendars. On that day, a total of five games will leave the service. However, it’s not all bad news. Because, at the same time, Microsoft is adding 10 more games that will solidify the Xbox Game Pass’ lead against its competition.

These are the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass on top of what was announced earlier this month:

  • Ben 10: Power Trip
  • Broken Age
  • Firewatch
  • Lake
  • Mortal Kombat 11
  • Paw Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay
  • Race With Ryan
  • Record of Lodoss War
  • Transformers: Battlegrounds

Granted, the children’s games such as Race with Ryan, Ben 10, and Paw Patrol, aren’t for everybody. But, they’re a great place to start kids with, which Microsoft probably assumed would make up a sizable number of gamers during this holiday season. In between staying at home while on break from school and receiving either an Xbox One or Xbox Series S/X as a gift, these games came at just the right time.

Speaking of games, some are saying goodbye to Microsoft’s popular video game subscription service as well:

  • Yakuza 0
  • Yakuza Kiwami 1
  • Yakuza Kiwami 2
  • The Little Acre
  • Pro Evolution Soccer 2021

All in all, Microsoft has made Xbox Game Pass the best video game subscription service this year. After starting with Outriders as a launch title, Microsoft has since secured plenty more, which it announced at E3 2021. Some of these games that were available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers at launch include Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite.

Having said that, we’re curious to find out what else Microsoft has in store for Xbox Game Pass in 2022.
