The WWE is planning to make Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes WWE Tag Team champions

Both Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes are the closest any wrestler have been to dethroning Roman Reigns in recent memory. Now, they'll find themselves working together against a common enemy. Their wrestling pedigree, charisma, and tag team history all guarantee that they'll have at least some semblance of chemistry, but isn't the main reason why Jey went to RAW was to establish himself as a solo act? Unless the WWE pivoted from its original plans at the last-minute once again, neither Jey nor Cody needs a tag team partner at this point.

So, what does that mean? Is Brandi Rhodes just goading The Judgment Day at this point? Or, for some reason, is Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso going to win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships only to lose them shortly after? The latter is a definite possibility. It's not like the WWE is running out of marquee PLEs anytime soon.

After Fastlane, the Crown Jewel (November 4), Survivor Series (November 25), and Deadline (December 9), are all lined up already before the year ends.

It wouldn't be unusual for the WWE to have the odd pairing win a title belt together and give them a shorter title reign. If anything, it could all play into Cody Rhodes' redemption story. With Roman Reigns poised to make his WWE return a few weeks from now and even defend his title belt, the WWE could push the timeline for their rematch forward, giving enough room for the long-rumored match between The Rock and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.

This isn't quite the Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes for WrestleMania 40 that has reportedly long been WWE's plans, but it would be a draw, nevertheless.

Of course, we're looking too far ahead. For now, it's best that we turn our eyes to October 6 and 7 as Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes have a chance to steal the show at both SmackDown and Fastlane, respectively.
