After featuring heavily in WWE 2K23, Bad Bunny is stepping out to take a breather as he tags in Post Malone as the latest in WWE 2K's line of prolific musicians to join the party.
Continuing the franchise's long-running tradition, Post Malone will be a playable character in WWE 2K24 as part of a DLC for the game that will be released at an undetermined date.
This comes on the heels of Post Malone's involvement as the Executive Soundtrack Producer for the game, where he has curated an eclectic mix of songs across various genres including rock, rap, electronic music, and pop for the game's soundtrack.
Post Malone, whose real name is Austin Post, expressed his excitement about the project as he emphasized the diversity of the soundtrack and its ability to enhance the experience for players. "The secret to a great video game soundtrack is a little something for everyone and for every mood. It gets you excited and it gets you pumped up to play," said Post Malone. His involvement in the game extends beyond curating the soundtrack, as he will also make his debut as a virtual wrestler, available for players to purchase in a post-launch DLC pack.
The soundtrack for WWE 2K24, handpicked by Post Malone, features twelve tracks, including two of his own songs, "Chemical" and "Laugh It Off." The selection showcases a variety of musical styles, from the electronic beats of 100 gecs to the country tunes of Tyler Childers, reflecting the diverse tastes of WWE fans and gamers alike. Neil Lawi, Head of Music for WWE, praised Post Malone's passion for music and his ability to capture the current soundscape of WWE through his selections.
