Very few expected how the main event of WrestleMania 39 actually turned out. All signs pointed to Cody Rhodes walking away with the WWE championship as audiences clamored for the top WWE titles to finally change hands.
The results continue to generate a ton of discussion, and while most didn't see it coming, it appears that what transpired was all part of a plan.
Sean Ross Sap of Fightful Select reported (via Bleacher Report) that Reigns' win at WrestleMania 39 was already set in stone "several weeks ago." However, several details about the "interference elements", like Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn helping Rhodes while the rest of the Bloodline tried their best to help the Head of the Table, were kept a secret to "talent, refs and ringside staff" until the event.
Unfortunately, Sapp couldn't confirm when the talent found out.
If it's any consolation, Triple H and Roman Reigns did confirm that there's more to the storyline.
