Warner Bros. Discovery reveals Superman: Legacy’s plot synopsis

By the way, the confirmation that Gunn will direct Superman: Legacy came in a series of tweets the filmmaker posted to his Twitter account a few days ago. In the tweets, the DC executive revealed that he was uncertain he wanted to direct the film but his co-CEO, Peter Safran, and other unnamed persons pestered him. He communicated his excitement about the movie and expressed his love for the script he has spent the past few months developing.

In a rare show of vulnerability, Gunn shared that the film's release date of July 11 coincides with late dad's birthday without whose support he wouldn't be working on the film.

Superman: Legacy is currently in pre-production. Apart from the title, as well as the fact that Gunn will be directing and Safran producing, there is little to no information available on the film. However, Gunn recently revealed that there will be major casting announcements in the next six months, which indicate the studio's behind-the-scenes efforts to get the ball rolling on their projects.
