For those who are always on the lookout for freebies, NVIDIA is making waves with its latest promotional venture. The tech giant, in collaboration with Remedy Entertainment, is offering a free copy of the highly anticipated Alan Wake 2 with the purchase of select GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards.
This isn’t the first time NVIDIA and Remedy have joined forces. Cast your mind back to 2019, when the duo promoted the release of Control and its groundbreaking DLSS technology.
Fast forward to today, and the latest in-frame generative and up-scaling tech, DLSS 3.5, is set to dazzle in Alan Wake 2.
The Finnish-based studio’s newest horror sequel promises to bring the eerie town of Bright Falls to life like never before. To avail of this promotion, gamers need to purchase the GeForce RTX 4070, 4070 Ti, 4080, or 4090 graphics cards.
But desktop PCs aren’t the only devices in the spotlight. Gaming laptops that are equipped with the GeForce RTX 4090, RTX 4080, or RTX 4070 graphics cards are also part of the deal.
However, the clock is ticking. Prospective buyers have until November 13 to get their hands on these products. Once the purchase is made, an email detailing how to claim the free Alan Wake 2 copy will be sent, redeemable through the Epic Games Store.
With Alan Wake 2 gracing platforms such as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC, many have been wondering if Alan Wake 2 will be available on Game Pass. The short answer is no. Despite its presence on a Microsoft platform, the game will not be added to Game Pass. Coincidentally, Remedy shared its difficulties working on the latest Xbox platforms.
This might be attributed to the fact that both Alan Wake 2 and its remastered predecessor are published by Epic Games and are exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC. This exclusivity means that placing the game on a subscription service could potentially undercut sales from Epic’s own platform.
On the console front, Remedy has announced a Performance mode for Alan Wake 2. While the game was designed for 30 FPS, this mode aims to offer higher frame rates without compromising on visual fidelity.
Remedy views this as a way to address the demands of gamers who believe that next-gen consoles should deliver high frame rates without sacrificing graphics.
Though the absence of Alan Wake 2 on Game Pass might be a disappointment for some, the game’s availability as part of NVIDIA’s bundle offers a silver lining. Alan Wake 2 is scheduled to be released on October 27.
