2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story starred Donald Glover as a much younger version of Billy Dee Williams' underworld smuggler and gambler, Lando Calrissian. Although the film wasn't exactly the biggest hit, Glover's portrayal received a lot of praise. Now, it appears that the rapper/actor is coming back to reprise the role in Disney's Star Wars off-shoot featuring Lando.
During a Jimmy Kimmel Live! interview while promoting Atlanta season 3, Glover played off the question when asked more about the upcoming Lando project for Disney+. Specifically, the ever-coy Glover said, "No, yeah, I have a lot of things. I like to blossom and then go away. Right now is the start of another one of those. I have like a ton of stuff I've been working on, but I just want it all to come out at the same time, so I feel like that's what's important."
While this isn't a direct confirmation of Glover's involvement in the series, it is a reveal of sorts, and if nothing else, it's the first update on the Disney+ show after the company announced it in the latter half of 2020 alongside Andor and The Acolyte.
From what we know so far, Lando's showrunner, Justin Simien, has signed on to develop Lando. Other than that, fans have tried to fill in the gaps with speculation and guesses.
