Christmas might have just come early for The Elder Scrolls fans, courtesy of the Activision Blizzard buyout by Microsoft.
According to PCGamesN, a document uploaded to the UK government website outlines the ongoing investigation of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) of the still-ongoing purchase. A part of the document talks about Microsoft's in-development "mid-sized" projects, which include The Elder Scrolls 6. The line states that the game isn't "expected to be released before [REDACTED]".
This all but confirms Microsoft already has a release window for Bethesda Softworks' next big game after Starfield. Unfortunately, for now, the classified info is available only to the eyes of Microsoft, Bethesda, the UK government, and the CMA.
Bethesda is currently working on its first new IP in decades, Starfield. The space-faring RPG was delayed to next year and we haven't really heard much about it for a while. But, even if it's basically what's to blame for the gap between The Elder Scrolls 5 and 6, fans can rest easy knowing Microsoft and Bethesda have target dates.
