Ubisoft has revealed it is still working on a remake of the critically acclaimed title Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The video game company made this revelation via a post on its official website.
In the post, the company acknowledged the concerns of community members as regards the game and provided a series of updates to allay fans' fears about the title. The company made it clear the game hasn't been canceled and is currently in development with no plans for other remakes apart from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
Additionally, Ubisoft revealed there's currently no release date for the title. In its words "At the moment, a new release date has not been set, we will provide new information on that front when we are ready." The lack of a release date prompted Ubisoft to cancel existing pre-orders and make refunds where applicable. However, the release also stated that "Pre-orders may reopen once a new release date for the game has been announced."
Ubisoft originally announced a remake of the 2003 title in 2020 and planned to release it the following January, in 2021.
