Amidst the flurry of quarterly financial reports and sales forecasts that have been revealed this week, Ubisoft has quietly laid down its gaming blueprint for fiscal year 2025, promising a lineup that includes the much-anticipated Assassin’s Creed Codename Red and Star Wars Outlaws.

We had previously reported a leak suggesting that Assassin’s Creed Red would be dropping later this year, and now Ubisoft has pretty much confirmed something along those lines. In the latest earnings call for Q3 2024, CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that the upcoming game will debut in fiscal year 2025, which ends on March 31, 2025.

Of course, this doesn’t narrow down the actual release date, but traditionally, most Assassin’s Creed titles have been released in the fall. Unless Ubisoft chooses to defy this long-standing tradition, it’s safe to say that Ubisoft is targeting an October – November release window for Assassin’s Creed Red.

Ubisoft Quebec will be helming the ambitious project that will transport players back in time to feudal Japan. There, players will dive into a Shinobi fantasy, which rumors suggest will have a female protagonist. Besides this, there isn’t much else in the way of information regarding the game’s plot or gameplay.

Assassin’s Creed Red’s release in 2024 might be speculation for now, but for Star Wars Outlaws, it has already been confirmed. Set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, the upcoming third-person adventure game will follow the adventures of Kay Vess and her partner, Nix.

Embarking on an ambitious heist in the Outer Rim, the outlaw duo will traverse well-known planets such as Tatooine, Kijimi, and Akiva and explore new locations like Toshara, a moon inspired by Tanzania’s savannah.

Some fans believe that Star Wars Outlaws can become the first truly great open-world game in the franchise.

Swedish developer Massive Entertainment, renowned for its work on Tom Clancy’s The Division, will take charge of creating the single-player, open-world game using its proprietary game engine, Snowdrop. Earlier last year, during the Ubisoft Forward event, a gameplay trailer for Star Wars Outlaws was unveiled to instant praise from fans.

Needless to say, Ubisoft is poised to make a statement this year, and fans are more than eager to listen.

Beyond the headline grabbers, Ubisoft also committed to launching a slew of other titles, including the much-delayed Skull and Bones, the free-to-play shooter XDefiant, and mobile ventures like The Division Resurgence and Rainbow Six Mobile.

Assassin’s Creed Codename Red will reportedly release on current-generation consoles, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, while Star Wars Outlaws has been confirmed for PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC via Ubisoft Connect.
