Ubisoft continues to push the boundaries of what it means to be an Assassin's Creed game. The franchise made a name for itself in the late 2000s and early 2010s as a series of stealth-adventure titles that explored historical settings, but with a clever fictional twist that involved technologically advanced extraterrestrial beings.
TLDR; the plot of the Assassin's Creed games might have been messy and sometimes hard to wrap your head around, but the games themselves were amazing.
After a series of big hits, Ubisoft eventually missed the mark, starting with the release of Assassin's Creed Unity back in 2014. This was followed by a couple more duds until Ubisoft finally found its footing with 2017's Assassin's Creed Origins, which turned the games into open-world RPGs that have since seen players explore Egypt, Greece, Norway, England, Ireland, and Paris.
Now, it seems like Ubisoft wants to change things again with Assassin's Creed Infinity.
