Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender is widely considered one of the most iconic pieces in animation history. As a testament to its lasting influence, ATLA, as it is affectionately called by fans, got a live-action adaptation with M. Night Shyamalan in 2010 that was universally bombed and reviled by critics but still made $319.7 million at the global box office against a $150 million budget. In addition, after the botched initial attempt from more than a decade ago, Netflix is working on a new live-action adaptation that recently cast Daniel Dae Kim as Lord Ozai.

Unfortunately, as much love as ATLA might get from studios attempting a live-action take, games based on the franchise are relatively few. But, it appears that this is all about to change soon.

According to Avatar News, at least four games based on the Avatar series are in the works right now, including a mobile game by Square Enix. The most interesting part here is that one of these games will be an RPG with action-adventure mechanics featuring characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender, with the other being an MMORPG. Unfortunately, the report doesn't contain other specific details about either Avatar: The Last Airbender project, but it is confirmed that the unnamed studios are working closely with Paramount's Avatar Studios.
