It's only been less than a month since Twisted Metal arrived on Peacock and audiences can't seem to get enough of the live-action adaptation.

Anthony Mackie leads the cast of Peacock's television adaptation of Twisted Metal

A few weeks ago, Peacock released a television adaptation of the popular video game series Twisted Metal.

Between then and now, the series has climbed up the streamer’s ranking to become one of the top five most-watched shows on the platform, alongside Bel Air, Based on a True Story, Poker Face, and The Best Man: Final Chapters.

Twisted Metal also ranks as the most-binged comedy series on the platform to date. Apparently, audiences watched three episodes on average with many seating through its 10-episode series on their first watch.

On the weekend of its release, the show was one of the most-watched original series across streaming platforms with about 400M minutes viewed that weekend alone.

When the show’s trailer aired at the Summer Game Fest a few months ago, we thought it would be a fun watch. However, we were not prepared for how much fun it turned out to be when we finally had a chance to watch the full thing.

Twisted Metal television adaptation is doing big numbers on Peacock.

Twisted Metal is set in a post-apocalyptic world. It follows an amnesiac, John Doe, who takes on a mission to deliver a mysterious package to a far-away location in exchange for a better life. During his journey, he meets a car thief. Together, they battle the different ordeals, including cannibals and religious fanatics, and successfully complete the mission.

Twisted Metal stars Anthony Mackie as the lead character. He is aided by a supporting cast that includes Will Arnett, Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Neve Campbell, Richard Cabral, Joe Seanoa, Lou Beatty Jr., and Mike Mitchell in different roles.

Apart from the highly talented cast, the series also benefited from a talented crew.

For one, it was developed by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Michael Jonathan Smith. Reese and Wernick are frequent collaborators and have previously worked on the three Deadpool films, Zombieland, and G. I. Joe Retaliation. Smith, on the other hand, has Cobra Kai under his belt.

If you haven’t heard, there are rumors that Robert Downey Jr. will return in Anthony Mackie’s next Marvel film titled Captain America: Brave New World. The Oppenheimer cast member was reportedly on set and involved in a driving scene.

Twisted Metal is streaming on Peacock.
