Tom Cruise is one of Hollywood's biggest stars, as well as one of its most hardworking. Last year, he helmed Top Gun: Maverick, which went on to become one of the biggest films of the year with a box office gross of almost $1.5 billion. When an actor of his caliber plans on seeing upcoming films, you know it is a major endorsement.
At his age and with his pedigree, you would expect him to have the luxury of taking a few days off work to celebrate his birthday. However, that is not the case with the Golden Globes winner. On Monday, when he should be celebrating turning 61, he was in Sydney attending the Australian premiere of his film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
Naturally, members of that country's press wanted to speak to him, and Cruise didn't disappoint. During a conversation with The Sydney Morning Herald, he revealed his big love for movies, including some upcoming blockbusters.
He stated, "I grew up seeing movies on the big screen. That's how I make them, and I like that experience; it's immersive, and to have that as a community and an industry, it's important. I still go to the movies."
